If I could leave 0 stars, I would. We should have known just by the lack of text responses from the beginning to get a quote and their claim that they did not receive my text, although they responded at one point.. James Gaines was the one that took our case. We paid promptly and he responded promptly that he was handling things. We heard back on 4/18 that the court was offering a plea - it was the exact same offer that comes on the blue paper when you’re given the ticket. Why would we pay someone to tell us that? He even included that we needed to respond promptly (within 2 days) as if it was some sort of special offer or they’d take the deal back. I responded that same day with my concerns and trying to explain what even happened and why we wanted to fight our ticket! Then sent another email 4/19 asking for a phone call to actually discuss the situation - I feel like this conversation was fairly important to representing my husband and warranted a real phone call. No response. Another request to call us on 4/21, he responded stating he would call Monday (or I could email him with questions), I replied same day stating I looked forward to his call.. he emailed again Monday, requesting an update to if he was accepting the plea. I responded again, same day - stating that we had waited all day for this phone conversation and nothing. Next day, he emails again saying he will call me in 2 days?! And again in that email, tried to avoid calling “rather than wait - what’s on your mind” … a freaking phone conversation James, so you can properly do your job and answer my questions (what I wanted to say, but didn’t) figured that was pretty clear with my multiple requests of a phone call. You’ll never guess who still didn’t call after his reschedules and my multiple requests. That was enough for us at this point, I had called his office and he of course wasn’t there. We requested a refund because as stated above he did NOTHING but present a plea that comes standard with the ticket. Unprofessional, point blank. He tried to “call me out” and defend his lack of phone communication and then wrapped it up by saying not to respond to close the ticket because he ultimately didn’t want to be reminded of his incompetence. All I wanted was a simple phone call to review what happened and tell us if we were SOL or not. He got hypersensitive to say if it was really due to his incompetence I’d use the refund to hire another attorney but I’ll likely use it to take the standardly given plea.. Well, if all the attorneys in the town are anything like you James - then you’re right but I’ll be calling around to hopefully utilize the funds for proper representation. Cheers to you James, I hope you find a career that suits you better because you came off as scammy, unprofessional and lazy.
